Guardianships and Conservatorships

When a minor or an adult cannot manage their affairs, legal proceedings known as conservatorships and/or guardianships may be initiated to change an individual’s rights.

In a conservatorship, the Court removes a person’s property rights and appoints a conservator to manage assets owed by and for the benefit of the protected person.

In a guardianship, the Court removes a person’s civil liberties and gives a guardian the right to exercise decisions regarding health and welfare.

We can help you understand the various duties and roles of conservators and guardians in these types of proceedings. We can also help you become appointed, challenge an appointment, or meet the conservator and guardian reporting requirements.
